You buy images using credits. Smaller, web-ready images start at 1 credit. Credit packages start at $19.99 for 20 or just under $1 per credit. Significant discounts kick in for larger quantities (down to about $.77/credit). They also offer a subscription plan that allows up to 10 high resolution images per day for a set period of time (3 months, 6 months, 9 months, or a year.) With subscriptions, you can get images for as low as $.26 each.

Sellers can earn between 50% and 80% of the cost of downloaded images. Dreamstime ranks each image based on number of sales. The more downloads, the higher the level. The higher the level, the more the photographer earns. There are also incentives to submit photos as exclusive.

Sellers are ranked by their number of contributions - less than 100 and you're 'white' up to 'diamond' for 500,000 or more.
